Subject:CANDY CORN!!!
Time:1:27 pm.
I feel I must continue the tradition.  Here is your history lesson this year!

"Candy corn history dates back to the 1880s when the Philadelphia-based Wunderlee Candy Company's George Renninger invented this popular candy. Wunderlee Candy Company was the first company to manufacture the candy. In 1900, the Goelitz Candy Company, which later became the Jelly Belly Candy Company, started making these candies and continues to make candy corn today."

I would like to point out that I don't like the fact that they are starting to make candy corn for other seasons such as Christmas.  WTF guys?  *walks away*

Subject:ITS CANDY CORN SEASON AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time:12:13 pm.
You thought I had forgot? About candy corn? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!!? :D :D :D Making candy corn angry is not a good idea.

This year I wanted to make you aware that all brands of candy corn are NOT created equal.  The most popular and easy to find brand is Branchs.  They come in a variety of flavors these days.  Branchs tends to have a more chalky (not in a bad way) sugary texture to their candy.  The Jelly Belly brand is more of a smooth feel and a different kind of sweet taste to them.

The top branded retailer of candy corn, Brach's, sells enough candy corn each year to circle the earth 4.25 times if the kernels were laid end to end.

My favorite still is Indian Corn (chocolate!).

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Halloween!

I started to carve a pumpkin
With my carving knife and scoop.
But the pumpkin got so scared
He took a little poop.
It looked so cute and funny
Just like a candy treat.
So I'm sharing it with you now
Because you're so sweet.

Buy it or elseee!!

Subject:Brief...
Time:12:26 pm.
I Just thought I'd post a bit of good news...

I GOT A RAISE :o You might be thinking...thats great. But in a Real Estate company who has been struggling to stay afloat through this whole economical downturn...this is pretty big! I'm supposedly the only one that will be getting anything this year. I think they were starting to realize that as an IT person with 4 years experience...the little bit they were paying me would no longer be enough to retain me. Anyway good stuff.

The owner also upped the amount he pays on my insurance from 75 to 100. That was very nice and unexpected of him. :)

I hope you are all doing well. Enjoy your weekend!

Subject:Job Frustration
Time:3:38 pm.
I have been so disgruntled at work lately.  Our company  has downsized quite a bit without them hiring anyone to fill the slack...so that means the rest of us have to pick up all the odds and ends to make things work.  We get no pay raise...no bonus...really no recognition.  Everything is always last minute and needs to be done NOW.  So the Director of IT (me) is now spending most of my day putting together flyers, sending emails, and making and printing postcards instead of working on technical projects I have going.

I mean...I guess the impending email changes and meeting software projects aren't as important as sending out a 1000 postcards.  Company email isn't a big deal, right?

I feel like I have become an administrative assistant rather and the IT manager...and I don't like it one bit.  The managers attitudes aren't helping things either.

So frustrated.  I updated my resume.

Subject:Words...
Time:1:47 pm.
Mood: drained.
There are certain words that I ALWAYS mistype the first time I spell them.

Orlando (I spell it Orlanda for some reason)
Xbox (Xobox)

Brain malfunctions.

Things have been good.  i am volunteering for this haunted trail thing in the coming weekends.  I get to scare kids and do something for a good cause.  Win win?

Planned a little mini-vacation to Orlando (ha i got it) to go to Universal Studios Halloween nights.  We are just going to stay there 1 night and come back.  Should be a lot of fun!

Rain needs to stop...seriously.

Subject:October 1st - CANDY CORN SEASON IS HERE!!!
Time:3:22 pm.
Mood: ecstatic.
Ladies and Gentlemen....boys and girls of all ages!  It is that time of year again...the time when you can sit down with a can of coke in front of your TV or computer...and enjoy the delicious flavors of Americas favorite seasonal treat - Candy Corn!

There have been a great many changes in candy corn over the years.  No longer do you have just 1 or 2 choices out there.  You can choose from a variety of flavored candy corn...I have a bag of smores candy corn on my desk!  The biggest announcement this year, however, has to be the newest addition to the candy corn family.  Chocolate.  Covered.  Candy. Corn.
I know what you're thinking!  Chocolate?  On CANDY CORN! OMG HOW COULD IT GET ANY BETTER!  I must say it does have a pretty good taste to it.  The chocolate coating is think and rather resembles the sort you will find on raisins.  Go check it out!

I did want to impart some wisdom with you this year about your candy corn selection.  Over the years I have sampled a great many varieties and brands of candy corn.  Each has their subtle or not so subtle differences in taste and texture.  So Adam, you ask, how do I know what candy corn to choose!

Well each person has their own preferences...but I find that candy corn that has a rough texture on the outside (not glossy smooth) typically has a better taste.  This is the kind that you can break in half with your fingers.  Some brands are towards the chewy side.

That being said...I wish you all the best.  I know I don't post as much as I used to but I still read nearly every day.  HAPPY FALL!

Go get yourself some candy corn and enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Subject:Houses
Time:10:43 am.
Mood: hopeful.
So...In case you don't know I have put my house up for sale!  No I'm not in financial trouble or any such thing...I am going to try and take this opportunity to upgrade a bit.  The only problem with upgrading is that you have to sell the house your currently live in first.  This leads to great frustration if you find a house you want to buy only to see it go under contract...and you have to start the whole process over again.  That's what happened with the first house...now I've found a second one that I like.  Must get more buyers!  Its a lot simpler of a process when you are coming from renting to buying.

In other news...Blizzcon is next week!  I'm looking forward to the little vacation.  We are going to stay a few extra days and have some fun while we are over there.  My interest has shifted from WoW (which is still fairly high up there) to StarCraft which I love.  I am treating this as sort of my goodbye to WoW as I think I will be playing Aion for a while.  After so many years of playing I think I'm burned out...at least for a while.  They have bent so many of thier rules to appease the masses that its becoming slightly rediculous, imo.  A new game will be a nice change.

Subject:Vacation and stuff
Time:3:17 pm.
Vacation is finally planned...and Jared is going with me this time! yay!

I am going to be goin to LA for Blizzcon in August and staying a few extra days to do other various activities.  Amex has a really cool travel booking system that made everything really easy to plan.  I guess I should request the time off now! ;p

Wendy, my roomate for about 2 years, has decided to leave the nest.  She will be going to live with her boyfriend.  It is going to be nice to have full privacy back...I will also have to adjust my spending to compensate for the lack of rent now.  I had gotten used to that little bit of supplimental income.

I have taken on my 3rd web project.  I already run two real estate new home community websites (not including our main company site which I do at work) on the side...I've been hired to update this third one.  Lets hope they sign up for the monthly maintanence package!  :)

I never finished posting about Italy.  I need to start planning my next trip to Europe.  I am pondering going with Conitiki at least once before I get to old.  We met a group of them over at the American Keryoke bar...and it seemed like they were having a good time.  Would be nice to have a group of random people to hang out with and travel (I think).  Spain or Greece I think is going to be next.

Hope you are all well!
